User profile errors on 2008 R2 terminal server

Hi

I have a problem on a Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 running terminal services with roaming profiles. The server has been functioning as a terminal server for quite some time without any problems, but a few weeks ago it started logging on users with temporary profiles or refusing logon stating "The User Profile Service failed the logon. User Profile cannot be loaded." After restarts the server seems to act normally, but when 8-10 users have experienced succesful logons, the above mentioned behaviour reappears. At the end of the day, when user activity drops, it will again be possible to log new users on - so it seems that it is unrelated to content of the user profiles folders. When I check eventlogs, the user profile service seems to be functioning, succesfully copying roaming profiles to local profile paths. The Windows Modules Installer service cannot be started, reporting error 1450, insufficient system resources. SFC and Windows Update do not function either, probably related to the Windows Modules Installer error. Furthermore, a DCOM error ("The server did not register....") is registered in the eventlog after each restart, referring to "Component Based Servicing Session". My impression is, that this problem is related to some sort of resource deficiency (not physical resources, the server is well equpped to the current level of activity), so I have been chasing Registry size, memory management, paged and non-paged pool size, but without any significant succes. I realize, that this is a somewhat fluffy and open query, and I will be happy to supply any information needed - I have been spending quite a bit of time on this problem, and any suggestion or comment is welcome
